Saat Aku Menjadi Penari

Pengalamanku menari

Belly Dance, The Dance I love !
(Ini Dance profile-ku saat aku masih aktif dance)
Alce Sherazade is a talented and enterprising Oriental Dance performer and Belly Dance teacher who is unafraid to journey through artistic provinces to draw from the myriad of sources that inspire her work.
Born and raised in East Kalimantan, a chance job opportunity brought her to Bali in 2000 and she has now adopted the fabled ‘Island of the Gods’ as her home. It was another accident that introduced her to the art of Oriental Dance; she was attending a friend’s birthday party and was spellbound by a Belly Dance performance, immediately falling in love with the fluid expression and femininity of the movements. She knew instantly that she wanted to learn how to Belly Dance, and gave her full attention, passion and energy to studying and mastering this ancient performing art.

Studying with an Australian teacher in Bali, Alce’s passion for Oriental Dance soon took her to Singapore. It was here that she received intense instruction from a prominent Arabic Belly Dancer and a famous Egyptian Belly Dancer  (www.ketisharif.com), during her tour to Europe she also studied to her dream teacher Leyla Jouvana  ( www.Leyla-Jouvana.de ) the most famous Belly dancer in Europe. Another beloved teacher is Soraya ( www.soraya-orientalischer-tanz.de ) who born with the dance blood from Persian Art. All of them are became a major influence in her style, bringing soul and grace to her movements.

In Bali, a Hindu island famous for its performing arts, Belly Dancing is still a very new trend. Alce Sherazade is Bali’s first professional Belly Dancer. She have not only introduced this art form to the island but have also made it a sought-after form of entertainment for restaurants, events and parties. She have been performing regularly at Khaima, Bali’s first Moroccan restaurant, since it opened and have also danced at numerous events, for royalty and celebrities, in world-class venues. She is available for events, parties and functions, and will never compromise on the authenticity of their dance or costume.  Alce has also performed in Europe, for an international event Hanse Sail Exibhition Rostock( www.hansesail.de ), and Charity Event for Canser in Army Ship Warnemünde East Germany, wedding and Birthday party in Frankfurt.

Alce’s primary focus as an artist is to promote this beautiful style of dance, and another consuming interest is her desire to pass on her knowledge through teaching.  She has been teaching since 2003, and in 2005 she opened her own Belly Dance school, the first and only one in Bali that specialises in true Middle- Eastern-style dance movements. Within a few weeks of opening she gave lessons to ten members of the Malaysian Royal Family.  She not only teaches Belly Dance but also imparts knowledge about this Middle Eastern art form. She says “Belly dance is great for fitness, fun and femininity, and when learned properly it will complement the feminine form. One of the reasons why it is so popular is because anyone and everyone can learn it; irrelevant of an individual’s age, size and weight.”

Unable to suppress her flair for design, coupled with her enthusiasm for rich colours and sumptuously decorated fabrics, Alce also designs and markets Belly Dance costumes. Her resourceful Balinese workers operate within home industries to produce immaculate, top quality, hand-crafted costumes cut from the finest fabrics, which are then significantly enhanced with sequins, intricate beading and accessories.

Dance Performances

A Standard show time generally will be one-hour performance, will present the audience with six graceful authentic Middle Eastern dances, accompaniedby mesmerizing traditional music, beautiful bright costumes and essential accessories purchased overseas. The exotic dances are enhanced by the use of veils (Dance with seven veils-Alce), scarves, brass cymbals, cane,  balancing swords and Samadhan (for special event and Wedding only). During the final two dances, usually invite members of the audience to dance with them for the last 2 songs to wake the guest into the joyful of life; Fun, smile, happy and relax!!

Creating unforgettable happy moments and merriment as they share their
passion for Belly Dance they pose for photographs for the audience.
